What is endometriosis? A disorder in which the tissue similar to the inner lining of the uterus (endometrium) grows outside of the uterus. The exact cause is not known.
Endometriosis symptoms: pelvic pain, irregular periods, painful periods, pain during sex, chronic back pain, infertility, extreme period symptoms
Endometriosis diagnosis: physical pelvic examination, ultrasound, and laparoscopy
Endometriosis treatment: hormone therapy, analgesic medications, laparoscopy, diet changes, possible hysterectomy
